15 Uses For Vodka that makes your Skin and Hair Beautiful

It can actually do a lot for your hair and skin, bringing shine to your tresses and wiping away your wrinkles. Vodka is the national drink of Russia and Russian women have made it a part of their beauty routine.

Note: Make sure you use vodka in moderation and dilute it properly with water before using it in beauty and hair preparations.


1. Hair Rinse

Vodka has a low pH level, which helps to close the hair’s cuticle for shiny, frizz-free strands, even on super damaged hair. Use chilled vodka as a post-conditioning rinse (the smell dissipates quickly, we promise) or mix a shot into your deep conditioner. If you have virgin hair, you can use a vodka rinse as often as you like, but colored hair types should stick to once-a-week treatments—and all hair types should always be sure to condition well to avoid dryness.It has a low pH level (acidic in nature) and thus can help to de-frizz your hair.

  • Take about 10ml of vodka, mix it in a 60ml bottle of your favourite conditioner.
  • Shake it well until you get a smooth consistency.
  • Use it once a week.

2. Prevent hair loss

Mix a tablespoon of organic honey and onion juice in a jigger of vodka and apply on your scalp. Leave it on your hair overnight and wash off in the morning. Vodka cleanses the scalp, removes toxins from hair and stimulates the growth of healthy tresses.

  • Honey ( 2 teaspoons), onion juice (2 teaspoons) and vodka ( 5 teaspoons)

3. Diminish dandruff

Flaky scalp spoiling your beauty cred? Add three teaspoons of dried rosemary to a cup of vodka and leave overnight. Next day, strain the solution and massage it into your scalp. Leave for half an hour, then wash off with cold water.

Or you can try this to.

  • Vodka (half cup).
  • Rosemary leaves crushed (2 teaspoons).
  • For 2-3 days, let mixture remain still.
  • Strain the mixture and store into a bottle.
  • Apply mixture into your scalp and massage it, after one hour wash it off.
  • With mild shampoo, wash your hair.

Once or twice in a week use this mixture to get rigid of dandruff from hair.

4. Clarifying Treatment

Vodka’s astringent, pH-balancing qualities also make it a great way to clarify your hair and scalp when you’re working with a little too much buildup.

Mix a shot of vodka in with your shampoo and massage vigorously (but gently!) into the scalp to deep clean and leave a smooth, shiny finish free of oily buildup.
