Vitamin E (or tocopherol) is a group of eight different compounds which aid antioxidation in the body. It is best known for its fat soluble and antioxidant properties making it an essential vitamin for the body. Out of the eight tocopherols, alpha-tocopherols are most commonly available due to their ability to fight free radicals and are also better absorbed by the body.
What Vitamin E oil?
Vitamin E oil is distinct from vitamin E supplements because it is applied directly to the skin and hair. Concentrations vary between manufacturers, and some users simply pop open vitamin E capsules and put the contents on their skin.
Vitamin E oil is an ingredient in many skincare products; especially those that claim to have anti-aging benefits.
Vitamin E Oil Skin
Pop open a vitamin E capsule and squeeze out the liquid onto your clean palms. Dab only a little on your face and keep it on for the entire night. Take care not to use too much, as it is very sticky and oily and you will end up with an oily face and your pillow would be all oily! Now, you obviously don’t want that. So, my advice is to use it very sparingly.
2#.Acne and Scar Treatment
Owing to its antioxidant properties, Vitamin E when applied topically helps in treating acne, as well as fading away those scars and ugly pimple marks. As an added benefit, helps in treating wrinkles as it speeds up cell regeneration.
Take one vitamin E capsule oil and add 2 spoons of potato juice to it and mix it well. Apply this mixture under your eyes and leave it for half an hour and wash it off. You can also apply it in the night and leave it overnight and wash it in the morning for even better results.
4#.Treat Chapped Lips
Open a vitamin E capsule and apply to your chapped lips. Alternatively, you could even add it your DIY lip balms or your store-bought lip balm jars to add some vitamin E goodness and benefit!
5#.Elbow, Knee, and Cuticle Softener
Apply a concentrated dose of vitamin E to your elbows and knees after exfoliating them, and rub in the oil. This will keep dry, flaky skin at bay, while also healing rough patches. Apply the remainin around your cuticles to pamper them too.
Add a vitamin E capsule to your night cream, and whip up the whole mixture, and voila! Your very own vitamin E enriched skin cream is ready. This is in fact more practical, and less messy as well as time consuming than using the concentrated serum, as you have to do this only a single time and no further worries. Also, you could add this to your body lotions to make vitamin E enriched body lotions.
Vitamin E also helps in healing scars and stretch marks. All you have to do is to just buy a Vitamin E capsule, cut it open and apply on the affected area. Apply this twice a day until the marks start fading off. Of course, it might take months and sometimes even a year to heal those terrible stretch marks but for pregnant ladies, this is an ultimate solution for their delivery.
This is very important for those who spend most of their time outside under the scorching heat of the Sun. Vitamin E oil protects the skin from skin cancer. Simply add 4-5 drops of this oil to your sunscreen and then apply it on your skin.
Vitamin E Oil For Hair
Now, this technique is very effective. Pop open 2 to 3 vitamin E capsules depending on your hair length. Smooth out this liquid onto your hair lengths, also for extra nourishment, you could apply it your scalp too. But, again, be cautious, its sticky, so your hair would get very sticky (unlike the commercial serums, which disappear into your hair). After keeping it on for half an hour to an hour, wash your hair and condition.
Vitamin E capsules cure dry hair and split end problems as well. Take 20 capsules (depending on your hair length and damage), cut them and put the gel into a small bowl. Now apply the gel thoroughly on your hair as well on the ends. Keep it on for about an hour & then rinse off with a shampoo. You will notice the difference within a month or so. This is a wonderful remedy for those who colour their hair or use curlers and straighteners frequently.
“Vitamin E oil can be applied around 5 times a week, but it depends on the quality of your skin. If you have dry skin or combination skin, use it thrice a week. If you have oily skin, use it once a week. Applying vitamin E oil is better than using store bought creams because it gets better absorbed by the skin and gives you beautiful skin, from within.” You can mix olive oil with vitamin E capsules as you might find it sticky. It is better to try a patch test first to check if you are allergic to Vitamin E. In addition, you may consult your doctor as well.
