Using an egg mask to get beautiful hair is one of the oldest tricks in the hair care world. It is also really cheap, as you can just use normal eggs from your fridge. Aside from just cracking an egg open over your hair, there are many different ways of making a mask.

It also conditions the scalp and supports hair growth. That is because of all the protein, which is a main building block in hair.
Homemade Egg Hair Mask
1.Egg + Lemon
Egg and lemon contain bacteria eating enzymes, which cleans your scalp and hair thereby they are recommended for those who have oily hair. This is known as the most simple and common hair mask for everyone.
- 1 full egg (applied to normal hair)
- 1 egg white (used for oily hair and scalp)
- 2 to 3 drops of fresh lemon juice
- 1 shower cap
Take 1 or 2 eggs depending on the length and thickness of your hair. To make the egg’s smell more pleasant, add a few drops of fresh lemon juice into the egg and beat them until frothy.
Apply the mixture to your scalp and hair while ensuring that your hair is all covered with egg. Use the shower cap to cover it and keep it for 20 minutes. Rinse the mask well with cool water before using a mild shampoo.
Repeat using this egg hair mask twice a week or a month while considering it as a good protein hair treatment.
2.Eggs + Banana + Honey
This rich mask combines the nourishing and enhancing properties of several ingredients: protein-rich eggs, potassium-rich bananas, and moisturizing honey and olive oil. Then, add some milk to the mixture and you’ve got a power-packed breakfast – and hair mask!
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl, mixing everything thoroughly before applying the mask to your hair and scalp.
Wait for at least an hour, and then rinse it gently with mild shampoo and water. You’ll feel the difference in just one wash.
3.Egg + Honey + Yoghurt
Honey helps in retaining the natural moisture of the hair. Moreover, it strengthens the hair follicles and keeps the hair healthy and lustrous. This egg hair mask is idle for your regular hair care and can be applied once or twice a month, whenever you want.
1 whole egg
1 tbsp yogurt
½ tbsp honey
To prepare this honey and egg hair mask, break the egg and blend together all the three ingredients to get a thick and consistent mask. Apply it on your scalp and hair and leave for 20-30 minutes. Wash off a mild shampoo using cold or normal water.
4.Egg + Gram Flour + Curd + Lemon
Gram flour and curb are combined with egg to make an egg hair mask for dry and dull hair. Gram flour plays a role in strengthening and conditioning the weak hair while lemon cleans the scalp and prevent dandruff, so it deeply hydrates and nourishes it. You should follow the recipe below:
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons of gram flour
- 3 to 4 tablespoon of curd
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
Take the egg and beat it completely. Add the gram flour into and mix them together. Add the curd and the lemon juice and mix them well. Apply the mask mixture on your hair and leave it to sit for about 45 minutes. Rinse the mask off and shampoo your hair again.
5.Yogurt + Cream + Egg
A hair pack that contains yogurt is excellent for cleaning your scalp and hair shafts. It removes build up while moisturizing and nourishing your hair.
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon cream
- 2 tablespoons yogurt
Mix all the ingredients until you get a smooth paste. Apply the hair pack to your scalp and hair. Leave it in for 45 minutes. Rinse the pack out with cool water. Shampoo and condition. Use this pack twice a week for dry hair. Use once in a week.
6.Vitamin E Oil + Egg Yolk
Vitamin E helps in repairing dry and damaged hair follicles. It also reduces corrosion of the tissues which helps in promoting hair growth and makes them healthy, frizzy-free and naturally hydrated. The yolk of an egg is high on protein, fatty acids as well as essential vitamins that are necessary for hair.

2 Vitamin Ecapsules
Beat the egg yolks in a mixing bowl. Burst the Vitamin E capsules and mix it with the yolks to form a smooth egg mask. You can apply this egg yolk hair mask once a week if you have dry and damaged hair and then twice a month after sometime.
7.Multani Mitti + Egg + Rice Flour
Multani Mitti being a natural and mild agent will cleanse your hair softly and will leave them smooth and fresh. Multani Mitti will remove excess oil from your hair reducing hair fall, dandruff and treating scalp issues. The fatty acid in egg yolk will not only help your hair to regain its strength but will also fight with dandruff issues and flaky scalp.
Mix the ingredients well and apply on your hair. Use comb after applying this hair pack so that it reaches to the maximum hair before it gets dried. Let it work on your hair for 40 minutes. After that rinse well with Lukewarm water.
8.Egg Yolk + Honey + Almond Oil
This is one of the best hair packs to use if your hair lacks moisture as well as protein. The egg gives your hair the protein it needs while the almond oil and honey condition your hair and seal in moisture. It is also an excellent way to give yourself some natural highlights thanks to the bleaching properties that honey possesses.
Mix the ingredients in a bowl until you get a smooth consistency. Apply the pack to your hair and leave it in for 15-20 minutes. Rinse out the pack with cool water. Shampoo and condition. You can use this pack up to twice a week.
Note: Do not use this hair pack if you have oily hair and do not leave the pack in for more than 20 minutes as honey has bleaching properties that can lighten your hair color if left in too long.
9.Avocado + Egg Pack
This pack is as hydrating as it is nourishing. The olive oil present in it is a natural conditioner that leaves your hair feeling soft. The proteins present in the eggs combined with the vitamins in avocado provide your hair with just the right amount of nourishment.
Mash the avocado and mix it with the other ingredients until you get a smooth paste. Apply the mixture to your scalp and hair and wait for 30 minutes. Rinse the pack out with cool water. Shampoo and condition your hair. Use this pack once a week. You can use it twice for hair that is extremely dry and damaged. Do not use this pack more than once a week if you have oily hair.
10.Egg + Aloe Vera
If you are trying to grow your hairs but they just seem not to grow quickly, try out this pack. Aloe Vera is a rich source of Vitamin E and it is known for being an effective hair growth booster.
- 1 Aloe vera leaf
- 2 Egg
Collect the Aloe Vera pulp from a fresh Aloe Vera leaf and blend it to make a smooth paste. Now add the content of an egg with the Aloe Vera in the blender and blend again for 3-4 minutes. Apply the resulting mask onto your scalp and hairs. Leave on for 45 minutes to one hour covering your head. Then wash off with a mild hair cleanser.
Never use hot water to rinse off hair masks containing egg as it can cook the eggs in the mask and leave cooked egg bits stuck to your hair.
